Gabriela Mistral
The Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center, GAM, is a center for the arts and culture, located in a historic building in the heart of Santiago, Chile. It is located between the Alameda, the main avenue of the capital, and the Lastarria neighborhood, a circuit with cinema, art, design, gastronomy, bookstores, and parks.
At the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center, you will find free exhibitions, plays, dance, and music. The center has open-air plazas open for extended hours, free Wi-Fi, and guided tours.

It has a pioneering initiative in Latin America for the custody, dissemination, and study of the artistic legacy of the pre-Columbian peoples of America.
It was founded by the prominent Chilean architect and antique collector Sergio Larraín García-Moreno, who was looking for a place to house and preserve his private collection of pre-Columbian artifacts acquired over more than fifty years. The museum has an extensive collection of material on pre-Columbian cultures, such as the Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas, and the Chilean native peoples, such as the Diaguitas, Mapuche, Rapanui, and Selk’nam, among many others.

The Museum of Memory and Human Rights
It is a space designed to give visibility to the human rights violations committed by the State of Chile between 1973 and 1990; to dignify the victims and their families; and to stimulate reflection and debate on the importance of respect and tolerance, so that these events never happen again. Through objects, documents, and archives in different media and formats, and an innovative visual and sound proposal, it is possible to learn part of this history: the coup d’état, the repression of the following years, the resistance, the exile, international solidarity, the reparation policies. The above makes the Museum of Memory and Human Rights a dynamic and interactive space that rescues the recent history of Chile and reconnects with the truth, which grows and is projected in the promotion of a culture of respect for the dignity of people.

Education
The Gabriela Mistral Museum of Education (MEGM) is a state institution specializing in the history of education in Chile. It is located in the building where the Normal School for Girls of Santiago operated until 1973, an institution dedicated to the training of primary school teachers.
In this building, in 1910, Gabriela Mistral took the validation exams that allowed her to teach classes. After the 1985 earthquake, the building was closed and reopened in 2006 as the Museum of Education. Currently, the museum offers guided tours, talks, plays, temporary exhibitions, workshops, has a Huerta, among other things. It is always free and opens on Mondays

Municipal Theater

It is the oldest cultural center in the country and a fundamental stage for works from all over the world. Its opera, ballet, symphonic and chamber concerts, and theater performances stand out. Belonging to the Illustrious Municipality of Santiago, the Theater building was designed by the architect Claudio Francisco Brunet des Baines, inspired by the French neoclassical style. It houses fundamental institutions for the national artistic development, such as the Philharmonic Orchestra of Santiago, the Ballet of Santiago, and the Choir of the Municipal Theater, in addition to a complete technical body with clothing, footwear, and sculpture workshops, among others. The Municipal Theater of Santiago is a true art factory.

Palacio La Moneda
Located in Santiago, Chile, under the Plaza de la Ciudadanía, in front of the southern facade of the Palacio de La Moneda. The CCPLM offers the Chilean and foreign public access to the creation and the national and international visual and audiovisual heritage, promoting its understanding and appreciation. This is done through large-scale exhibitions, in addition to the programming of the National Film Library, extension activities, services, and complementary samples.

Commonly known as La Moneda, it is the seat of the President of the Republic of Chile. It also houses the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security, the General Secretariat of the Presidency, the General Secretariat of Government, and the Ministry of Social Development. It is located in the commune of Santiago. The Palacio de la Moneda is the only building of pure Italian neoclassical style in America. Its main facade faces Moneda Street, overlooking the Plaza de la Constitución, under which parking lots and offices were built for the different dependencies of the presidency and the ministries located there. This place is popularly known as “the Bunker”.
